Whether launching one of the nation’s most iconic series of travel guides or organising a record breaking event for Waterstone’s, JWPR’s publishing division is renowned for getting results.
On the travel publishing front, one of our proudest achievements was the work the agency undertook on behalf of the Mr & Mrs Smith Hotel Guide Book Collections. Not only did we develop a unique book membership scheme and introduce a leading photographer to the project, but we succeeded in achieving £1million in press coverage in the launch month alone.
One of several campaigns we undertook for Waterstone’s, the UK’s leading bookstore, involved the organisation and management of the Britain’s Biggest Potter Party at the company’s flagship store at 311 Oxford Street. The event not only attracted thousands of fans, but the attention of the world’s media resulting in global print, television and radio coverage.
Meanwhile, short project campaign for publishing giant Dorling Kindersley’s Real City Guides reached nearly 16 million people and gave the client a remarkable 38 to 1 return on its investment. Joint promotions were organised with the likes of EasyJet, Virgin and Hayes and Jarvis resulting in massive exposure in such target media as the Daily Mail, Glamour and The Times.
